ARC Named Top 10 Small Business
April 3, 2009 -- Athletic & Rehabilitation Center was named Friday as one of the Top 10 Small Businesses in The Greater Kansas City area and will compete for the coveted Mr. K Award for Small Business of the Year.
Each year, the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce holds what has become the largest celebration of small business in the country. ARC was selected from the over 130 companies vying for the Top 10 honor.
“We are truly honored to be named a Top 10 company. It’s just another demonstration of how our talented staff go the extra mile, think outside the box and redefine the healthcare experience every day for our clients and patients. And, we’ve had the opportunity to grow and learn from some of the finest clients -- both large and small businesses -- in the region,” said Matt Condon, President/CEO of Athletic & Rehabilitation Center.
ARC was selected based in part on their innovative approach to their business highlighted in their new initiative, ARC University -- Redefine Excellence. ARCU provides our employees with:
- Ongoing, continuing education programs, technical training sessions and one-on-one mentoring to help our therapists become the most highly skilled in their industry,
- Employee satisfaction programs, that reward and recognize excellence among our staff,
- Client roundtables to help our staff better understand the needs of our clients and remain client focused.
Community service and involvement also factor into ARC's selection as a Top 10
Small Business. As a company, ARC has broken new ground in their industry in support of
some of the most underprivileged children in the region through the P.L.A.Y. Program
- Promoting Lifestyles of Active Youth. The ARC team works with the KIPP Endeavor
Academy to help underprivileged, urban core youth develop healthy, fit, lifestyles.
The Top 10 candidates for Small Business of the year will be honored at an April 16th Business After Hours event at the Hyatt and at a Top 10 Breakfast on May 7th featuring a Top 10 CEO roundtable discussion. May 20th the Mr. K Award winner will be announced at the Small Business Awards Luncheon.
